Pope Francis has asked our parish to support the Pontifical Good Friday Collection, which helps Christians in the Holy Land, where they are now less than 2% of the population. Your support is essential to help the Church minister in parishes, provide Catholic schools and offer religious education. The Pontifical Good Friday Collection also helps to preserve the sacred shrines of Christianity, including Jerusalem, Nazareth, and Bethlehem, to name a few. When you contribute to the Pontifical Good Friday Collection, you join with Catholics around the world in solidarity with the Church in the Holy Land. Please be generous.

We congratulate, Kent & Gaynell Landeche on being selected to receive the Order of St. Louis IX Medallion. Archbishop Gregory Aymond presented this medal to them in a special ceremony at St. Catherine of Sienna Church, Metairie, on Sunday, March 23rd. The Order of St. Louis Medallion is one of the highest and most cherished honor bestowed by the local Church on a member of the laity. It was established to recognize individuals who have given unselfishly of their time and talent to the work for the Church over a long period.
Dear Friends:
We are in need of some volunteers and part-time workers at the parish. Please let others know of these opportunities. We need lawn care at the St. Gertrude Cemetery which consists of helping cut the grass and most importantly spraying and pulling weeds between the grave stones. Please contact us and we can give information and agree on payment. Our current Coordinator of Religious Education, Tina Montz, will resign in May, so that part-time administration position is available. They coordinate the volunteer teachers and weekly religion classes during the school year and organize other events, including the sacramental programs for children. Please contact Fr. Campo as soon as possible for more information.
Blessings to all, Fr. Lance
